Created by Cristen Pascucci

Founder of Birth Monopoly

The issue of obstetric violence is Cristen’s life work.  Since 2012, she has been working at community, national, and international levels to lift the veil on the epidemic of obstetric violence, especially in facility-based settings, as well as to advocate for change.  She has helped to bring major lawsuits for obstetric violence; led multiple legal advocacy efforts and media campaigns about obstetric violence, birth trauma, and human rights in childbirth; and educated hundreds of birth and healthcare workers on these issues through her classes, lectures, and publications.
